AI and Ergonomics—Unkept Promises, or the Dawn of Transformative Change?
Description:
Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming ergonomics, but early sensory AI tools—such as marker-less motion capture—often failed to meet expectations. While these technologies struggled with force assessment, obstructed views, and reliance upon older assessment models, new forms of AI are emerging. Generative AI and Agentic AI open the door to exciting new possibilities. Practitioners can apply AI to research, summarize, conduct/interpret analysis, and develop solutions with greater efficiency. This presentation shares practical applications, pitfalls, and lessons learned from adopting emerging AI technologies. Attendees will be provided insights into how rapidly advancing AI is enhancing the practice of ergonomics.
