Presentation Preparation Checklist

• Poster Size: 3' 6" x 7' 6" (max) – landscape
• Posters will be applied by push pins – provided
• Posters will be on display in the Crystal Ballroom prefuncation area. You will be able to put up your poster as early as 9 a.m. Tuesday, March 10.
• Upload your draft and final poster within the OpenWater system.

Presentation Tips

• Know the audience
• Be focused and know the point you want to get across
• Provide a brief, clearly stated background and walk the audience through the content of the poster by intepreting all results
• Poster design and presentation:
  • Minimize words
  • Use graphs, charts, and tables as a tool for communicating ideas
  • Make it colorful
  • Be sure the text is in large font
  • Be sure the contents have logical flow
  • Layout and headings must be visually stimulating
  • Be organized: the design of the poster and stye of delivery must be organized in order to be effective.
  • Practice presenting your poster and prepare a brief script
  • Have a postcard/paper summary of your poster for people to take with them.
• Have business cards with contact information to hand out to attendees
