The Top 5 Things Process Improvement Practitioners Need to Know ... According to Healthcare Providers
Description:
In the spirit of Continuous Improvement and Soliciting Customer Feedback, we informally surveyed and interviewed a cross-section of Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants at UF Health Gainesville to understand their perspectives on and experiences with Process Improvement Projects and Process Improvement Practitioners. We analyzed and consolidated the responses, sharing them with Process Improvement Professionals across all of UF Health as well with the Health Systems Engineering Professor in the ISE Department at the University of Florida.
In this session, we will share the top five things our Providers wanted us to know and remember. The Top 5 includes things we do well, things we haven't done well, and a reminder of why we are all doing what we do.
Describe healthcare providers' perspectives on Process Improvement activities and opportunities where collaborations can be improved between PI Professionals and Clinicians
Internalize the healthcare providers' perspectives in actionable strategies in order to better understand the providers PI professionals work with and develop greater empathy for those providers.
Use healthcare providers' perspectives to adjust the ways Process Improvement project ideas are vetted, PI project scopes are developed, and provider assistance is enlisted in PI projects to ensure PI project sustainability.
