Transitioning from academia to industry can be difficult in any field, but the field of ergonomics, one that is full of experts, can be particularly intimidating. Following my graduation from university, I was hired by Cintas to be their sole Ergonomics Engineer for a company of over 40,000 employees. In my first year I have face challenges but from those I have learned valuable lessons about how to navigate industry. This talk will help recent post grads, new hires and emerging professionals learn those lessons.

I am the Corporate Ergonomics Engineer at Cintas and I have been in this position for a year. Prior to my role at Cintas, I graduated from Virginia Tech with a Masters in Industrial and Systems Engineering with a focus in Human Factors and Ergonomics. During my time at Virginia Tech, I researched passive exoskeletons for industrial application in the Occupational Ergonomics and Biomechanics lab.
