AGCO Case Study: Utilizing a Continuous Improvement Focus in Deploying a Sustainable Ergonomics Process

Creating an ergonomics process in a unique environment that commonly contains long cycle time operations and few classic workstations was a challenge that AGCO overcame. This presentation will highlight their efforts to utilize the Continuous Improvement spirit of an Ergonomics Process to build skill across the organization, but more importantly build excitement to ensure the process is sustained.

By applying a Continuous Improvement approach, the team was able to successfully launch the program and scale it across the North America, South America and Europe.

The necessary planning prior to implementation of a Global Ergonomics Process (North America, South America, European locations).

The best practices of how AGCO improved the workplace by developing effective solutions, even when there are few succinct workstations.

Blake McGowan, Solution Executive at VelocityEHS, is responsible for defining and executing the Ergonomics solution’s vision, strategy, and performance across all areas of the business.

Blake has over 25 years of experience helping global manufacturing organizations deploy and manage formalized ergonomics processes and achieve best-in-class performance.

Blake received a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology (Biomechanics and Neurophysiology) and a Master of Science degree in Kinesiology (Human Neuromechanics) from the University of Waterloo in Waterloo, Ontario. Blake has achieved recognition as a Certified Professional Ergonomist (CPE). He is a member of the National Occupational Research Agenda (NORA) Musculoskeletal Health Cross-sector Council, the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH) Physical Agents Committee, and the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society (HFES), as well as a founding member of the National Safety Congress (NSC) Musculoskeletal Disorder (MSD) Solution Lab. Blake has been with the company since 1999.
