Inclusive Design and Creating Accessible Products: Designing Work Environments for a Diverse Workforce
Description:
This presentation explores how biomechanics enhances design by creating work environments and products that are accessible to a diverse workforce and reduce injury risks. The application of biomechanical principles, and a deep understanding of physical limitations, ensures that work environments accommodate workers with varying functional abilities and are designed to mitigate the risk of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). Ergonomic experts leverage biomechanics to develop workspaces that minimize strain and promote safety. Case studies from various sectors will illustrate how inclusive, biomechanics-informed design has improved accessibility, reduced injury rates, and supported diverse workforce needs.
